What is Upload – Season 4 about?

In the year 2033, technology has advanced extremely fast. People live in a world of holographic phones, self driving cars, AI assistants and 3D food printers. Not only that, you can actually cheat death. Well, sort of. If you are nearing death, you can upload into a virtual reality afterlife. At the luxurious Lakeview Resort, you can enjoy all the comforts of a world-class hotel with the help of their human concierge. Provided you can pay for it.

One of these living concierges is Nora (Andy Allo). Looking to make some extra cash, she takes a job at as a customer service representative, better known as “Angels”. Her first assignment is to be an angel for party boy, Nathan (Robbie Amell). After being severely injured in a self-driving car crash, his high maintenance girlfriend, Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) uploads him. However, Nora becomes so much more to Nathan as she helps him find friendship, love and purpose.

In season four, a sentient AI turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview and the world. On top of that the characters are tested like never before with greedy executives, lingering mysteries and heartbreak in VR and IR. To stop the AI and save humanity, they must team up one last time to get through it all.
