A mother with the perfect life world is turned upside down when she believes her son’s new love interest is hiding a secret in the Prime Video series, The Girlfriend.

What is The Girlfriend about?

Laura (Robin Wright) seems to have it all. She has a successful career, a loving husband and her precious son, Daniel (Laurie Davidson). However, her life spirals out of control when her son meets, Cherry (Olivia Cooke). Quickly, Laura suspects Cherry is what she appears to be. But is her mistrust justified or in her head. After a tense introduction, she believes her son’s new girlfriend is a manipulative social climber and not right for her son. Determined to protect him, she must find out the truth before it’s too late.

In addition to starring in the series, Wright also serves as the director. Based on the book of the same name by Michelle Frances, Gabbie Asher and Naomi Sheldon adapted it for the series.
